Elizabeth Felts is an English teacher at New Hanover High School. In 2014, she created the Honors Service Learning program, which allows students to discuss and identify issues in the community and world and seek to address them with possible solutions. Students also engage in various service-learning placements throughout the semester. She also co-founded the Bridge program, which offers students academic support and grows them as leaders through an interdisciplinary structure and service-learning. She has taught both middle and high school, grades 6-12, in diverse settings, including rural and urban schools. Mrs. Felts has a B.S. in Psychology from Calvin College and a Master’s of Arts in Teaching from the University of North Carolina Wilmington.
